Prime & Wine Wednesday!

“Cue gong sound” OMMMMMmmmmmmmm and cheers. Welcome to this weeks prime and wine post.

I wanted to feature my newest edition to my meditation practice and that is my meditation pillow. I think it has made a difference in my practice because it helps my posture and it is my specific spot that I can put where ever I need to meditate. I feel like I can take my pillow and put it anywhere and it almost helps my mind get ready to meditate. Like a light bulb goes off in my head like oh ok you’re on your pillow time to meditate. Kind of like your evening routine that sets your mind up for rest. These cues help that process a lot.

I wish I could tell you I had this glorious meditation practice where it was absolutely perfect and I did it every day. I do not. I am still learning and trying to develop a daily practice. I know going through YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) will help me so much. I am looking forward to that. I notice a big difference when I am consistent. I have done 5 days in a row for a few weeks and it was awesome but again, I would like to get to the point where it is daily. I use the calm app. It is my favorite meditation app right now. I have tried others and this one is my favorite. I like the daily meditations they have on the app. Its a 10 minute meditation and is the perfect amount of time for me and I feel oh so good. They have sleep sections where you can pick a story out that someone has narrated for you to fall asleep to. I love using this when my husband is out of town because I do not sleep well when he is gone. Matthew McConaughey actually narrated a book on the app. They have a meditation section if you don’t want to do the daily one that is cued up. They also have a section dedicated to music. Some people don’t like the voice cues but I personally prefer that right now because it keeps my mind from wandering off. I am going to link an article I posted on Facebook of the 13 reasons why to meditate. I think you will really enjoy it if this is something you are doing or wanting to do.

I paired this weeks purchase with a fabulous white blend from a favorite winery of mine near Bend Oregon. The winery is called Faith, Hope & Charity vineyards. The white blend  is a blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. It is light bodied and will please any palate. It is slightly sparkling which I really enjoyed and has a fruity bouquet of apricots and and undertone of apple. It comes in this beautiful refillable bottle.

Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!

Heres a silly pic of Brooke and I because she wanted to be loved on while we were trying to find the perfect spot for the photo.

Prime & Wine Wednesday!

IMG_0888

Prime and Wine Wednesday!!! I need to get shirts made haha! I actually ordered wine glasses from Women Who Love Wine and they’re prime and wine glasses! I can’t wait to add these to this series!

So I am going to feature my 2018 cyber Monday buy from Amazon. And that is the Furbo dog camera. My sister and I went in on it as the Christmas gift for my dog Brooke. Yes we buy her gifts… and my sister, her Aunt, loves to do that as well.

I have been loving having this camera. It is soooo cool! I can talk to my dog during the day while I am at work or out running errands. I can throw her treats as well! That’s probably the best part of the camera. I feel like when I throw her a treat a few times during the day, it shows her I am thinking of her. I do recommend if your dog is food focused or just loves treats, that you put it up high. I had the Furbo for 3 days and Brooke had figured out how to knock it over and get all the treats out. Sooooo just an FYI haha. The two pictures below are screen shots from the videos I took of her knocking it over and it being on the floor. She is one smart cookie!!

Its got a great wide angled camera so you can see everything going on where you have it placed. It also has night vision. I wish there was an option to have extra cameras to put in other rooms. Sometimes my dog doesn’t just stay in the living room. Sometime’s she likes to go to the bedroom and hanging out there. I set up the camera in our living room as you can see from the picture below.

IMG_0904

I have read some pretty awesome reviews where this camera has saved a persons dog and house from a fire. If you subscribe to the dog nanny that Furbo offers it will notify you when your dog is barking, as well as some other notifications. The treats I use are the peanut butter flavored treats that I get on chewy. I will have it all linked below. I also suggest if you can wait for Black Friday or cyber Monday you will get an awesome deal on the camera. We paid $139 for it. But hey if you want it get it now do it!! I do love it!

I paired this purchase with a Sauvignon Blanc from Winc as well this week. Its a Sauvignon Blanc from France. First time ever that I have had a Sauvignon Blanc from France. I normally go with a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand because those are the best in my opinion. This Sauvignon Blanc has bright accents of lime peel, green apple and chalk. I definitely don’t get a chalky vibe haha just more of that crisp citrus feel.

Thanks for reading! Cheers! 🙂

Prime and Wine Wednesday!!

IMG_0541Cheers! and happy wine not Wednesday!

I am so sorry there was a 2 week hiatus. I should have started this series when I was done with moving and settled into our new place. 🤦🏻‍♀️ (*Face Palm*) But thank you as always with being patient and kind with me.

Its prime and wine day everyone! Pour that glass of wine and log onto your amazon account. My apologies to your husbands and credit cards haha.

This weeks item is blue light blocking glasses. I have seen some insanely expensive and I a like why?! I don’t think anyone should spend more than 20 bucks on blue light blocking glasses. and thankfully…. amazon came in hot with the chic style and awesome price of $16.99.

I bought 3 pairs…. yes I did. I couldn’t decide what color. And I actually use all 3 pairs. One is in the bedroom, one is in the living room and one is for work. I can’t tell you how much this has made a difference in my sleep from wearing them often. Who knew something so simple could help my sleep. If you have any more questions on anything I post feel free to reach out here in the comments or on my instagram in the comments section or DM me!

The pictures below are of 2 out of the 3 pairs because I use the one pair at work. The tortoise pattern is my favorite for sure.

This week I am pairing this amazon find with a Chenin Blanc that I got from the Winc Club.

Prime and Wine Wednesday!!

I wanted to start a new series on my instagram but because I don’t have as many followers as some other influencers, I need to utilize my blog more. I wanted to have a swipe up option in my stories and I also wanted to utilize “like to know it” app but I am also not “popular” enough for that. I am not complaining I swear. Yes it is frustrating because that would be easier but its ok! I will work with what I got and I hope this takes off.

I am constantly pouring myself a glass of wine and jumping on amazon. Can you relate? Friday night sessions, making wish lists and or buying too much stuff? I think amazon is awesome. I am always purchasing stuff I realized I didn’t get over the weekend while running errands. Like hangers and sandwich bags.

I will try to throw in unique items each week and common items that your household could use. I will feature one new product a week on Wednesdays. As well as a new wine. Or that is a the plan to do that. I may switch it up with a beer or cocktail but the main theme is Prime & Wine.

So Happy Prime & Wine Wednesday!!! Here is the first item I want to talk about.

IMG_9365

Do you own air pods? I have had mine for over a month now. I love them. They are so convenient! I am so glad I finally bought a pair. I bought a silicone cover for my airpods so I could find them easier in my purse and protect them a little more. I didn’t want to spend $15 or more on a simple case. I have seen a lot of cases out there that are like $30 bucks! uhhhh no thanks! So I found a silicone case rated very well on amazon for $8.99. And it is prime so this case will be in your hands in 2 days.

I am pairing this buy with a Sauvigon Blanc that I picked up at trader joes. Vibrant, Fresh and Fruity! Cheers!!

The Wine Hook

wine hook 6

I was super honored when someone from The Wine Hook reached out and offered me a wine hook to review. umm ABSOLUTELY! I actually had my eyes on this company for a few months and I was about to order one once we got moved to Texas and out of the blue someone contacted me and I was so excited. The wine hook was invented by 3 brothers from Green Bay Wisconsin. Go Packers!! At least I hope they are Green Bay fans…

After one wine hook got lost in the mail the second one arrived and I was so excited! I started attaching it to random stuff in my apartment just to test it out. I know its supposed to be used for camp chairs or out door patio furniture but I really wanted to put it to the test. I was even thinking I could use it on my counter top while I cook and just have it chilling there and my glass of wine be out of the way.

This is definitely a great item for any wino. It actually would be really good as a stocking stuffer if you needed an idea. The company makes other products as well like a dock to hold your drinks and phone, and a satchel to hold your bottle of wine on your camp chair.

I am proud to be an advocate for the wine hook. Its a genius idea! How many times have you been at a family gathering, camping, bonfire or your kids soccer game with your chair and you had no where to set your wine glass? Yes, I did use your kids soccer game as an example because if I have kids that will be me. It is the perfect item to add to your camping list or add to your bag for a family reunion. It would fit on a picnic table for sure.  I am all for supporting small businesses and I hope this turns out really well for these 3 brothers. Way to go guys!

Link is below go grab yours now!

Rainier View Winery

If you take the drive to Mount Rainier you will pass the road to this gem of a place. We saw it on our drive out to Mount Rainier and I looked it up on yelp and saw the 4 stars and I told my husband we are stopping on our way back.

Rainier View

When we pulled up we saw the small building where the wine tasting is and the nurseries where you can buy your plants. It was so cute. There is an epic view of Mount Rainier from their property.

My husband and I shared a tasting and ill cut to the chase… we shipped 6 bottles home we liked it so much. I tried everything from dry to sweet. The one I really enjoyed was the Glacial Blend they make. Its blue wine!! I couldn’t believe that I found blue wine. I am not a Chardonnay fan but I tried their dry Chardonnay and I really didn’t mind it. It was one of the better Chardonnay’s that I have had. It had peach notes to it. Their fruit wines like the strawberry and marionberry tasted like a handful of that fruit. They were really good. I couldn’t get over the range of wines they had. Everything I tasted was great. The Riesling, Merlot and red blend. I think I tried more than that but I lost track because the owners wife was so kind and was sharing so much good information with us. She sat with us and explained each wine and we just had nice conversation. The server that was coming with the wines was actually from the Norfolk area in NY so it was even nice to talk to her about the vineyards out that way where she grew up.

At this point the owner himself had stopped and introduced himself. I can’t get over how kind, personable, and wonderful these owners were. They are husband and wife. The husband learned how to make wine in Germany when he was in the military and stationed over their. How cool is that? I would love to learn to make wine from Germans or Italians. He told us a story about how when he first created the Glacial Blend and was testing out how to make it blue. Well he used actual food dye at first and some girls stopped by and drank it and they went out with blue mouths and weren’t too happy about it haha. I wouldn’t be either but it makes for a good story!

The owner was kind enough to give me one of his boxes with the Styrofoam in it that could hold 12 bottles. As well as a wine opener since mine got confiscated at TSA because I was forgetful and didn’t realize I never took my wine opener out of my purse… I am sure TSA thought I was crazy. I bought 6 from Rainier view and then 3 more at a winery on Bainbridge Island in Seattle. So it worked out perfectly.

If you are ever in the Seattle area you need to go to this place. It is homey and beautiful. I felt so welcomed by this couple and just had a great time while we were there. They have live music and events during the week. Its a great spot to stop at.

VineBox Shades of Summer Reviewer

IMG_1888

Oh my damn! Is what I said after having all of these wonderful wines out of this box. I was so impressed by the collection of rosé they had picked out for this summer box. I wasn’t expecting to like them all and the red’s that were in the box. I couldn’t drink them all in one night. I split them up during a week span. Their were 9 wines to try. 1 white, 6 rosé and 2 reds.  I started with the one that was listed on the tasting card as the first. It was a white wine. On the tasting card they break it down to what you will smell and taste in each wine. The white wine was Castillo de Benizar they described it as a straw yellow color. Elegant and fruity with a delicious floral note. I rated each out of 5 stars. 1 being horrible 5 being awesome. I gave the white wine a 4 because it had a weird start to it and ended very floral. I am not big on floral notes but I didn’t hate the wine. The 2nd wine was a rosé from Château de Brégancon. They described this  wine with strawberry, flowers and a bright raspberry finish straight from Provence. I rated this one with 5 stars. I really liked this one it was very bright tasting.

IMG_1889IMG_1890IMG_1891

I really enjoyed this whole box. It was a nice treat and a good way to try new wines. The 3rd wine I tried from Château Les Palais and they described it as watermelon Jolly Ranchers on a bed of pink flowers. A fun and expressive rosé. I gave this 5 stars and I couldn’t believe how much it tasted like Jolly Ranchers but was dry. I really want a bottle of it. The 4th wine was Adrien Vacher. They described it as rosé bursting with peach and blood orange from the base of the Alps. I definitely got the peach taste from it and this was another one that I gave 5 stars to. The 5th wine I tried was Bodegas Vinos Alex and they described it as full-bodied garnacha rose from Northern Spain. Floral and tart. I agree with all of their descriptions they gave on the wines. It was actually really straight and to the point and I found it way easier to understand each wine. This wine was so good. I gave it 5 stars. Their were only 2 wines I wasn’t overly in love with but didn’t hate them. 2 out 9 wines I think is really good.

IMG_1892IMG_1893IMG_1894IMG_1895IMG_1896

The 6th wine was Castillo de Benizar. It is described as rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon, a rare treat with a hint of sweetness. I gave this 5 stars and I wrote on my card “How can a cab taste as good as a rosé!?!?!” This one had a unique taste but in a good way because you totally tasted the cab side of it as well as the sweet/rosé part. The 7th wine was La Serra, a rose petal colored, tropical fruit scented. Nebbiolo and Barberba in one glass. I wanted a hole bottle of this wine. It is definitely 5 stars. The 2 red wines were next. Ca de Lion was definitely a good summer red wine. Light but delicious. It is actually enjoyed chilled. I never drink red wine cold. I couldn’t believe how good this tasted cold. The last wine was Bodegas Vinos Alex a bright young red wine for sunshine was described by vinebox. It was a little too cherry tasting for me so I gave it 4 stars because I am not big on cherry flavored beverages.
